Market Wrap

Saturday June 9, 2012

A huge excited thank you to all our boutique stallholders, gourmet food stalls, entertainment & of course the mass of customers at our June 9 Mummy Tree Market at Sanctuary Cove!!

From a morning that started with rain & winds, Jenna & I were ever so glad we were hosting our tradtional Sanctuary Cove Twilight Market…

As lunchtime approached & stallholders arrived, the gods looked down with a  smile & turned to skies blue for a magical market :-)

Upon arrival kids were blown away by the excitement of the day, they didn’t know where to start first with Jumping Castles by All About Fun, Facepainting by Wintertwine, interactive music by Music with Monica & of course our resident, Katrina from “Hands on kids crafts” supplying FREE funny faced ballon decorating was such a hit to get the fun started!

The Kiddywinks Puppet Show opened its curtins at 2.15pm and gee didn’t it pull a crowd J The sound of kids (& parents hehe) clapping & giggling floated through the market for all to hear…

This market we launched our “Best Boutique Stallholder” Competition which was a hit and proudly won by a new business to the Mummy Tree Markets,We were blessed with a great variety of boutique stallholders showcasing their best & beautiful’s from clothing, homewears, jewellery, toys & ladies fashion to everything in-between made for a great afternoon of shopping for all!

“Alfie. By Kobi” – Congratulations!

Kobi’s stall had an amazing feel incorporating her brand and uniqueness with her décor. Bringing the outside in with the use of artifical grass & garden gnomes certaintley caught our attention. Simple but boutique! xx

Kobi has won a complimentary stall site at our next market with pre-aproval to attend…Thank you to all the stallholders to participated in the competition & displaying your businesses so professionally. We look forward to another winner in August.

The late afternoon greeted us with bone chilling winds & made customers run for their jumpers, they then kept their bodies warm with the funky tunes & games of DJ Elektra! What an amazing atmosphere this was :-)

Thanks to DJ Elektra who also acted as our market MC, which allowed us to run a “customer feedback competition” and weren’t some amazing prizes won! Thank you to all the lovely stallholders who donated the prizes!

Amongst the fun was live performances from “The Amanda Grounds Dance Academy” & “Voice of an Angel”. Thank you

Also a big thank you to Jess from Jess Gunnion Photography who was our market photographer :-)

Our new layout, extra food & the amazing quality of stalls certainly made for a great afternoon out!

We are heaviely promoting on the Gold Coast to ensure “The Mummy Tree” is a known brand and we believe we are moving forward with giant steps to make this reality.

Once the community know we are a FREE family event & not just a market, we’re sure they will pop us on their calendars!

In saying this, we are expanding!!!!!!

Stay tuned to your emails & online for our new additional venue to be announced soon, which will host our August & December Market…

Thank you and see in August.

Cheers, Mandy & Jenna xx

Sanctuary Cove October Market

The day certainly made it clear that summer was on it’s way! Beautiful sunshine and a gentle breeze greeted us as we set up for the days market, and as stallholders started to arrive and marquees were being set up and we looked around and where before was a wide open empty space, now amazingly there were these beautiful little mini shops everywhere! We’d been impressed with the effort and creativity stallholders had put into making their stalls well and truly fit in with the “chic, inspired, unique” moto at previous markets, but were absolutely blown away by the standard of the setups at this market, in particular some of the newbies who hadn’t had a market with us before were just outstanding and so different from other stalls it really brought a fresh new feel to the day!

The range of baby/childrens wear and accessories, maternity, art, cooking/homeware, was breathtaking and every step you took there was something new and amazing to tempt you! The entertainers really made the day a hit while Mum and Dad enjoyed a coffee in our popular lounge area, DJ Elektra had hordes of kids dancing and singing, Music with Monica had the kids displaying their musical talents, the face painting, soccer, wandering clown, and stilt walker were all a hit, and the jumping castle made for some very happy parents with exhausted kids at the end of the day!

As the sun started to set and the temperature started to fall the emphasis shifted from ice cream, sno cones, and cold drinks to the amazing gourmet meals available as everyone refueled after an amazing day that really emphasised that the Mummy Tree Markets truly are an event and not just a market!

The “best boutique stall” was awarded to Doilies and Dreams, the colours, different levels displaying their very unique items, and attention to detail was so impressive, and we look forward to seeing them again at our Robina Markets as their prize :)

A big thank you Jade from Forever After Photography for her beautiful images, Mel from Sanctuary Cove for all her hard work on the day, and all the stallholders and customers! Definitely a day to remember!

Westfield Helensvale March 9th

What an awesome way to kick off our new market at Westfield Helensvale!!  There were so many lovely customers browsing our boutique stalls and the atmosphere was just fantastic – smiling faces everywhere!

Once again we had the gorgeous voice of Zoe Meliah to set the scene, along with Chantel Maree playing for an hour, we had a jumping castle from All About Fun Jumping Castles, gorgeous facepainting and balloon twisting from Fig Tree Fairy Parties, cute little pggies, goats, ducks & chickens from Kims Itty Bitty Animal Farm, mini sensory sessions for babies from Baby Sensory Gold Coast as well as hands on candle making fun from Create-a-Candle – there really was something for everyone!

We had our all time favourites along – Sweet n Salty with their scrummy gourmet popcorn & sno cones as well as so many of our regular stallholders and lots of new faces too.

We had the gorgeous Melanie from Little Orange Photography snapping away all day taking shots of our stallholders and lovely customers, so be sure to check out our photo gallery here.

Thank you to everyone who came and visited the market, both stallholders and customers had a great time and the vibe was really nice.

I look forward to doing it all again next month back at Main Street, Westfield Helensvale on April 13th from 9am-1pm and every second Sunday of the month for 2014!

We are back at Sanctuary Cove on April 5th from 9am-1pm – it’s a very different market experience there – you and the family can really make a day of it – we’d love to see you there!

Market Wrap – Saturday 8 June – Robina State School

Wow what an amazing day!  The sky might have been overcast but the smiles all around were certainly sunny!!

The market atmosphere was just buzzing and it looked exciting with so many people browsing the boutique stalls – we had not only baby & children’s clothing, but ladies clothing, vintage prints, jewellery, swimwear, photography,  giftware, skin care, toys, free baby advice from Helping Hands for Tiny Tots, pram and bedroom accessories and the list goes on!

We had such a great range of entertainment on Saturday – the kids didn’t know where to go first!  Dora and Peppa Pig from The Magic Castle – Gold Coast were a hit with the little princesses in the crowd,  Childrens Party Stars did an amazing job with the facepainting and free loot bags, Monica, from Music with Monica had the babies moving and grooving, Little Apple Tree spun some magical tales, Playdough People let the creativity flow and D J Elektra kept the party pumping!  The jumping castle and mini golf from Hall of Fitness was a hit as usual and for the first time we had Kims Itty Bitty Mobile Animal Farm so the kids (big & little) could feed and cuddle baby animals.

The market also smelled devine from all the delicious food options including cake pops, popcorn, thai, gourmet coffee, hot corn, ice cream, cupcakes, macarons and bakery items!  I went home with bulging bags of goodies to treat the kids and hubby!

My highlight for the day was the Prize Table – we had so many amazing goodies to give away and the display was really eye catching – the best part was calling customers to tell them they had won!

Thank you to our Market Photographer Wendy from Wendy Maley Photography for taking such wonderful photos of our market, and thank-you to everyone who came and visited the market, both stallholders and customers seemed to be having a great time and the vibe was really nice.

I look forward to seeing you again at Sanctuary Cove on July 20 and Robina on August 3,

Market Wrap – Saturday April 14 Twilight Market

Wow, what a day!

From a wet & windy morning, to a beautiful warm, friendly and festive afternoon emerged our April 14 Twilight Market at Sanctuary Cove!

One minute we were not sure if there was even going to be a market due to the weather, then the next minute there were customers sitting back in our fabulous new “lounge” watching children dance and giggle with such enthusiasm to the groovy beats of DJ Elektra and Music with Monica.

Our twilight market had a warm and friendly vibe with the Elite Dance Academy, jumping castle, Mr Toot Entertainment & the stilt walkers pulling in a big crowd of parents, friends & visitors!

The main focus of the market was of course the amazing boutique stallholders, who were selling a diverse range of children’s’ clothing, home wares, maternity wears, bedding & lots lots more which all catered for a shoppers delight…

Best Market Find:

Bungalow 12

   Best Market Buy:

Little Honeypie

We loved to see our new “lounge” put to good use, friends & families taking in the funky tunes of Ram Dharam whilst sipping a coffee, snow-cone or enjoying an afternoon snack from our delicious gourmet food stalls.

A huge thanks to all our wonderful stallholders, entertainers & gourmet food businesses for supplying such boutique products & services for all to enjoy :-)

Jenna & I are very motivated to grow our markets bigger & better as we learn from each and every market… With the hope of future expansion on the Gold Coast we are working towards making “The Mummy Tree Markets” a known name on the GC and this is only possible with the on-going support from our talented small businesses that trade with us in 2012!

Interest is growing daily for our June 9 market with applications opening online on April 30.

We are happy to announce an exciting competition coming up which will give 7 lucky stallholders the chance of great promotion and exposure for their business to the general GC public! Stay tuned to our facebook page for details.

Until next time Mandy & Jenna

Sanctuary Cove March 2013

What a great day !! The weather was on our side right from the get go. What started off as dreading rain for Gold coasters ended in a beautifully sunny afternoon out, which was much needed for all local families. The stall quality was as usual at such high standards, and it was wonderful to welcome in some new and fresh businesses as well as our regulars who never disappoint. We had new entertainer Chanted Cadden, who brought the country pop tunes flowing through the crowd. While star parties DJ Elektra had all the kids engaged dancing and having fun! Well done Star Parties you never miss a beat,  and Music with Monica had the children showing off their musical talents and singing until they dropped!

With all the great entertainment and fantastic overall vibe,  shopping parents were free to taste all the great gourmet food and coffee, sample the products, but most of all enjoy their time out in the sunshine with their children.

A special big thank you to Tracey Campbell from Party Stars who did a solid 4 hour face painting job, our market photographer Jess Gunnion Photography,  all our stallholders who cooperated on the day, and who consistently help make our market the premier boutique market for all ages and tastes

Thank you again and look forward to next time J

Sanctuary Cove December 14th Christmas Market

I am unable to insert photos into this post – so please check out the image gallery here.

What an awesome way to end the year.  Sanctuary Cove invited us to be part of their 12 Days of Christmas Event on Saturday 14 December.

Sanctuary Cove put on Santa, an animal petting farm, a stilt walker and a fantastic singer Jake Meywes.  We added to this with three very talented young girls singing – Brittany and Anneliese for an hour at 1pm and Zoe Meliah from 4pm, along with a jumping castle from Hall of Fitness, gorgeous facepainting and balloon twisting from Fig Tree Fairy Parties and moves and grooves for babies from Music with Monica.

Sanctuary Cove asked us to utilise their gourmet cafes instead of inviting our own food vendors, but we still managed to invite a couple of our favourites along – indulgent cupcakes and macarons from Sweet Tooth Delights by Em and gorgeous creamy fudge from Forever Fudge.

For any Sweet n Salty fans – Joanne was booked to come but had an accident on the way down so was unable to continue.  She promised to visit the coast this week to deliver your orders!

We were lucky enough once again to have Wendy from Wendy Maley Photography on hand to capture it all, so be sure to check out our photo gallery here.

Thank you to everyone who came and visited the market, both stallholders and customers seemed to be having a great time and the vibe was really nice.

I look forward to doing it all again next year – our first market is back at Sanctuary Cove on March 1st from 9am-1pm – see you there!

Merry Christmas everyone, and have a safe and happy start to 2014.
