Market Wrap

Helensvale June 8th

It was a PERFECT warm and sunny winter’s day for the Queen’s Birthday Weekend markets at Westfield Helensvale! The atmosphere was great, with many happy families out and about soaking in the unusual WARMTH for June.

There were plenty of kids having a BUCKETLOAD of fun with a jumping castle from All About Fun Jumping Castles, facepainting from Fig Tree Fairy Parties, the adorable baby animals from Kim’s Itty Bitty Animal Farm and kicking goals with Brad from Little Kickers.

We had the wonderful Chantel Maree playing a beautiful and as always delicious gourmet popcorn and sno cones from Sweet n Salty, scrumptious cupcakes from Lavish Occasions, as well as our regular stallholders and many new faces.

The gorgeous Melanie from Little Orange Photography captured the day, taking many wonderful pictures of stalls and visitors – they can be seen in our photo gallery here.

A BIG thank you to all the stallholders who attended the markets – I know you would have preferred to be away with the family on the beautifully warm long weekend! Also thank you to everyone who came and visited – everyone had a great time and always had a smile on their face!

I look forward to seeing you all again July 13th at our NEW time of  10am – 2pm at Main Street, Westfield Helensvale!

Sarah :)

Sanctuary Cove 5th April 2014

Sanctuary Cove once again put on a lovely day for us on Saturday for our market on the 5th of April.

We had the ethereal voice of Zoe Meliah to set the scene, along with a jumping castle from All About Fun Jumping Castles, gorgeous facepainting and balloon twisting from Fig Tree Fairy Parties and moves and grooves for babies from Music with Monica  – there really was something for everyone!

Sanctuary Cove asked us to utilise their gourmet cafes instead of inviting our own food vendors, but we still managed to invite our all time favourites along – Sweet n Salty with their scrummy gourmet popcorn, sno cones & fairy floss.

My apologies for the lack of photos in this post, I’m having trouble with the computer.  We had the gorgeous Melanie from Little Orange Photography snapping away all day taking shots of our stallholders and lovely customers, so be sure to check out our photo gallery here.

Thank you to everyone who came and visited the market, both stallholders and customers had a great time and the vibe was really nice.

I look forward to doing it all again back at Sanctuary Cove on June 28th from 9am-1pm.

We are also at Westfield Helensvale – be sure to set aside the second Sunday of each month to visit us – see you there!

Sanctuary Cove – 14 September

We were invited by Sanctuary Cove to move our markets inside their café precinct for this market.  Having it surrounded by lovely cafes, gardens and boats really added to the boutique atmosphere!

MTSC_Sept_093

The weather was not our friend this day.  After weeks of brilliant sunshine we woke to patchy storm clouds and blustery wind.  We always stay positive until the last possible moment at The Mummy Tree so we didn’t let the thought of rain cross our minds at all – our optimism was rewarded with not a single drop, and even some sunshine later in the day!

MTSC_Sept_103

We did have a few showers early in the morning though when the sprinkler system came on, resulting in very muddy grass underfoot later in the day, but everyone kept smiling and no harm was done (other than to the grass!!)

MTSC_Sept_054

We had an amazing variety of beautiful products and services showcased, many for the first time, and we got such good feedback we are sure they will be back.

MTSC_Sept_059

We are lucky enough once again to have Wendy from Wendy Maley Photography on hand to capture it all, so be sure to check out our photo gallery here.

MTSC_Sept_080

Keeping the kids happy is a high priority for us, as always Childrens Party Stars did an amazing job with the facepainting and Sarah Jane from Fig Tree Fairy Parties did balloon twisting again – my favourite is her cute little butterfly :)

MTSC_Sept_044

The lovely Monica, from Music with Monica kept the babies moving and grooving.

MTSC_Sept_024

Assist-a-Parent intended to tell stories but were kept so busy doing plastic craft painting that they never got a chance!

MTSC_Sept_065

As always D J Elektra from Star Parties kept the party pumping!

mtsc_sept_076

Sanctuary Cove asked us to utilise their gourmet cafes instead of inviting our own food vendors, but we still managed to have a couple of our favourites along with popcorn, sno-cones and fairy floss from our loyal regulars Sweet n Salty and indulgent cupcakes and macarons from the gorgeous Heather at Crave Cupcakes.

MTSC_Sept_047

Thank you to everyone who came and visited the market.  Both stallholders and customers seemed to be having a great time and the vibe was really nice.

MTSC_Sept_026

I look forward to doing it all again and seeing you all again back at Sanctuary Cove in the Marine Village on November 9th – this time for our Twilight Market from 2-6pm – its going to be beautiful!

Robina Launch Market 11/8/12

What a beautiful winters day it was to launch our new Robina Market on the Gold Coast!

Glorious weather greeted us at first light, when the setup began for our debut indoor market held at The Community Performing Arts Centre at Robina State School last saturday.

As stallholders arrived with their array of unique products & services the CPAC transformed into a glorious boutique market with 65+ businesses ready to showcase their goods to our local Gold Coast community.

Customers from every part of the coast, were delighted to see such a quality market showcasing not only newborn, baby & childrens clothing, but maternity wear, designer ladies clothing, vintage candles, jewellery, local surfwear, photography, homewears & of course we had the boys covered too!

There was a hairdressing service for convenience and a great price to match, by Crazy Critter Cuts!

Amongst the fun was a line up of FREE entertainment for the kids to enjoy, from facepainting, interactive music & of course our regular kids disco parties by DJ Elektra.

DJ Elektra – Kids Disco Party!

Our sponsor, Gold Coast Gymnastics set-up a FREE “Come & Try” circuit which was a hit with the kids!! Who wouldn’t want to tumble & play with professionally trained coaches J

Whist the kids were entertained, the parents enjoyed a coffee, bite to eat & I’m sure a sweet treat or two, from our delicious selection of local food businesses available to them on Saturday morning.

As customers wandered, shopped & socialised – kids giggled, danced & played, the market was nearing an end :-) We drew our customer feedback competition – won by Linda of nerang, who walked away with a designer Kids Flip Out Sofa kindly donated by Little Bumchums.

Little Bumchums

Our Best Boutique Stall was won by the talented Corinne from ‘tea&sugar’ collections with her vintage inspired candles.

Thank you also goes out to our market photographer Jade from Forever After Photography, our sponsors Gold Coast Gymnastics, CURVES & Boomerangs Indoor Play Centre.

Sanctuary Cove 9 November Market Wrap

What a fantastic location Sanctuary Cove is for a market – and finally today the sun was shining and the wind wasn’t too blustery!

I am always amazed by the gorgeous items our stallholders have for sale, and by how beautiful their displays look and today was no exception – thank you to all of you who put in such a lot of effort to present your products in a boutique, unique way.  Make sure you check out the photo album for today HERE – Wendy from Wendy Maley Photography does a brilliant job capturing the feel of the day.

Keeping the kids happy is a high priority for us, as always Childrens Party Stars did an amazing job with the facepainting, Monica, from Music with Monica had the babies moving and grooving,  and as always D J Elektra from Star Parties kept the party pumping – even though she had to leave early for another event and left ME holding the mic – not my finest moment!!

It just wouldn’t be a Mummy Tree Market without popcorn, sno-cones and fairy floss from our loyal regulars Sweet n Salty and indulgent cupcakes and macarons, this time from Sweet Tooth Delights by Em.

Thank you to everyone who came and visited the market, both stallholders and customers seemed to be having a great time and the vibe was really nice.   I am really looking forward to doing it all again at our AMAZING Sanctuary Cove Christmas Market, once again in the Marine Village on December 14th – we will be open a bit longer for this market – 1pm-6pm – and there will be so much incredible Christmassy Goodness you won’t be able to believe your eyes!!

Our next market is on December 7th at Robina State School from 9am-1pm – it proving VERY popular with the stallholders booking in, so its going to be fantastic and have a great range of Christmas goodies also!

Saturday June 9, 2012

A huge excited thank you to all our boutique stallholders, gourmet food stalls, entertainment & of course the mass of customers at our June 9 Mummy Tree Market at Sanctuary Cove!!

From a morning that started with rain & winds, Jenna & I were ever so glad we were hosting our tradtional Sanctuary Cove Twilight Market…

As lunchtime approached & stallholders arrived, the gods looked down with a  smile & turned to skies blue for a magical market :-)

Upon arrival kids were blown away by the excitement of the day, they didn’t know where to start first with Jumping Castles by All About Fun, Facepainting by Wintertwine, interactive music by Music with Monica & of course our resident, Katrina from “Hands on kids crafts” supplying FREE funny faced ballon decorating was such a hit to get the fun started!

The Kiddywinks Puppet Show opened its curtins at 2.15pm and gee didn’t it pull a crowd J The sound of kids (& parents hehe) clapping & giggling floated through the market for all to hear…

This market we launched our “Best Boutique Stallholder” Competition which was a hit and proudly won by a new business to the Mummy Tree Markets,We were blessed with a great variety of boutique stallholders showcasing their best & beautiful’s from clothing, homewears, jewellery, toys & ladies fashion to everything in-between made for a great afternoon of shopping for all!

“Alfie. By Kobi” – Congratulations!

Kobi’s stall had an amazing feel incorporating her brand and uniqueness with her décor. Bringing the outside in with the use of artifical grass & garden gnomes certaintley caught our attention. Simple but boutique! xx

Kobi has won a complimentary stall site at our next market with pre-aproval to attend…Thank you to all the stallholders to participated in the competition & displaying your businesses so professionally. We look forward to another winner in August.

The late afternoon greeted us with bone chilling winds & made customers run for their jumpers, they then kept their bodies warm with the funky tunes & games of DJ Elektra! What an amazing atmosphere this was :-)

Thanks to DJ Elektra who also acted as our market MC, which allowed us to run a “customer feedback competition” and weren’t some amazing prizes won! Thank you to all the lovely stallholders who donated the prizes!

Amongst the fun was live performances from “The Amanda Grounds Dance Academy” & “Voice of an Angel”. Thank you

Also a big thank you to Jess from Jess Gunnion Photography who was our market photographer :-)

Our new layout, extra food & the amazing quality of stalls certainly made for a great afternoon out!

We are heaviely promoting on the Gold Coast to ensure “The Mummy Tree” is a known brand and we believe we are moving forward with giant steps to make this reality.

Once the community know we are a FREE family event & not just a market, we’re sure they will pop us on their calendars!

In saying this, we are expanding!!!!!!

Stay tuned to your emails & online for our new additional venue to be announced soon, which will host our August & December Market…

Thank you and see in August.

Cheers, Mandy & Jenna xx

Sanctuary Cove October Market

The day certainly made it clear that summer was on it’s way! Beautiful sunshine and a gentle breeze greeted us as we set up for the days market, and as stallholders started to arrive and marquees were being set up and we looked around and where before was a wide open empty space, now amazingly there were these beautiful little mini shops everywhere! We’d been impressed with the effort and creativity stallholders had put into making their stalls well and truly fit in with the “chic, inspired, unique” moto at previous markets, but were absolutely blown away by the standard of the setups at this market, in particular some of the newbies who hadn’t had a market with us before were just outstanding and so different from other stalls it really brought a fresh new feel to the day!

The range of baby/childrens wear and accessories, maternity, art, cooking/homeware, was breathtaking and every step you took there was something new and amazing to tempt you! The entertainers really made the day a hit while Mum and Dad enjoyed a coffee in our popular lounge area, DJ Elektra had hordes of kids dancing and singing, Music with Monica had the kids displaying their musical talents, the face painting, soccer, wandering clown, and stilt walker were all a hit, and the jumping castle made for some very happy parents with exhausted kids at the end of the day!

As the sun started to set and the temperature started to fall the emphasis shifted from ice cream, sno cones, and cold drinks to the amazing gourmet meals available as everyone refueled after an amazing day that really emphasised that the Mummy Tree Markets truly are an event and not just a market!

The “best boutique stall” was awarded to Doilies and Dreams, the colours, different levels displaying their very unique items, and attention to detail was so impressive, and we look forward to seeing them again at our Robina Markets as their prize :)

A big thank you Jade from Forever After Photography for her beautiful images, Mel from Sanctuary Cove for all her hard work on the day, and all the stallholders and customers! Definitely a day to remember!

Regards

Darcie from Wintertwine, and Jenna from Kingston Blue
