Market Wrap

Sanctuary Cove March 2013

What a great day !! The weather was on our side right from the get go. What started off as dreading rain for Gold coasters ended in a beautifully sunny afternoon out, which was much needed for all local families. The stall quality was as usual at such high standards, and it was wonderful to welcome in some new and fresh businesses as well as our regulars who never disappoint. We had new entertainer Chanted Cadden, who brought the country pop tunes flowing through the crowd. While star parties DJ Elektra had all the kids engaged dancing and having fun! Well done Star Parties you never miss a beat,  and Music with Monica had the children showing off their musical talents and singing until they dropped!

With all the great entertainment and fantastic overall vibe,  shopping parents were free to taste all the great gourmet food and coffee, sample the products, but most of all enjoy their time out in the sunshine with their children.

A special big thank you to Tracey Campbell from Party Stars who did a solid 4 hour face painting job, our market photographer Jess Gunnion Photography,  all our stallholders who cooperated on the day, and who consistently help make our market the premier boutique market for all ages and tastes

Thank you again and look forward to next time J

Sanctuary Cove October Market

The day certainly made it clear that summer was on it’s way! Beautiful sunshine and a gentle breeze greeted us as we set up for the days market, and as stallholders started to arrive and marquees were being set up and we looked around and where before was a wide open empty space, now amazingly there were these beautiful little mini shops everywhere! We’d been impressed with the effort and creativity stallholders had put into making their stalls well and truly fit in with the “chic, inspired, unique” moto at previous markets, but were absolutely blown away by the standard of the setups at this market, in particular some of the newbies who hadn’t had a market with us before were just outstanding and so different from other stalls it really brought a fresh new feel to the day!

The range of baby/childrens wear and accessories, maternity, art, cooking/homeware, was breathtaking and every step you took there was something new and amazing to tempt you! The entertainers really made the day a hit while Mum and Dad enjoyed a coffee in our popular lounge area, DJ Elektra had hordes of kids dancing and singing, Music with Monica had the kids displaying their musical talents, the face painting, soccer, wandering clown, and stilt walker were all a hit, and the jumping castle made for some very happy parents with exhausted kids at the end of the day!

As the sun started to set and the temperature started to fall the emphasis shifted from ice cream, sno cones, and cold drinks to the amazing gourmet meals available as everyone refueled after an amazing day that really emphasised that the Mummy Tree Markets truly are an event and not just a market!

The “best boutique stall” was awarded to Doilies and Dreams, the colours, different levels displaying their very unique items, and attention to detail was so impressive, and we look forward to seeing them again at our Robina Markets as their prize :)

A big thank you Jade from Forever After Photography for her beautiful images, Mel from Sanctuary Cove for all her hard work on the day, and all the stallholders and customers! Definitely a day to remember!

Regards

Darcie from Wintertwine, and Jenna from Kingston Blue

Robina Launch Market 11/8/12

What a beautiful winters day it was to launch our new Robina Market on the Gold Coast!

Glorious weather greeted us at first light, when the setup began for our debut indoor market held at The Community Performing Arts Centre at Robina State School last saturday.

As stallholders arrived with their array of unique products & services the CPAC transformed into a glorious boutique market with 65+ businesses ready to showcase their goods to our local Gold Coast community.

Customers from every part of the coast, were delighted to see such a quality market showcasing not only newborn, baby & childrens clothing, but maternity wear, designer ladies clothing, vintage candles, jewellery, local surfwear, photography, homewears & of course we had the boys covered too!

There was a hairdressing service for convenience and a great price to match, by Crazy Critter Cuts!

Amongst the fun was a line up of FREE entertainment for the kids to enjoy, from facepainting, interactive music & of course our regular kids disco parties by DJ Elektra.

DJ Elektra – Kids Disco Party!

Our sponsor, Gold Coast Gymnastics set-up a FREE “Come & Try” circuit which was a hit with the kids!! Who wouldn’t want to tumble & play with professionally trained coaches J

Whist the kids were entertained, the parents enjoyed a coffee, bite to eat & I’m sure a sweet treat or two, from our delicious selection of local food businesses available to them on Saturday morning.

As customers wandered, shopped & socialised – kids giggled, danced & played, the market was nearing an end :-)  We drew our customer feedback competition – won by Linda of nerang, who walked away with a designer Kids Flip Out Sofa kindly donated by Little Bumchums.

Market Wrap – Saturday April 14 Twilight Market

Wow, what a day!

From a wet & windy morning, to a beautiful warm, friendly and festive afternoon emerged our April 14 Twilight Market at Sanctuary Cove!

One minute we were not sure if there was even going to be a market due to the weather, then the next minute there were customers sitting back in our fabulous new “lounge” watching children dance and giggle with such enthusiasm to the groovy beats of DJ Elektra and Music with Monica.

Our twilight market had a warm and friendly vibe with the Elite Dance Academy, jumping castle, Mr Toot Entertainment & the stilt walkers pulling in a big crowd of parents, friends & visitors!

The main focus of the market was of course the amazing boutique stallholders, who were selling a diverse range of children’s’ clothing, home wares, maternity wears, bedding & lots lots more which all catered for a shoppers delight…

Best Market Find:

Bungalow 12

   Best Market Buy:

Little Honeypie

We loved to see our new “lounge” put to good use, friends & families taking in the funky tunes of Ram Dharam whilst sipping a coffee, snow-cone or enjoying an afternoon snack from our delicious gourmet food stalls.

A huge thanks to all our wonderful stallholders, entertainers & gourmet food businesses for supplying such boutique products & services for all to enjoy :-)

Jenna & I are very motivated to grow our markets bigger & better as we learn from each and every market… With the hope of future expansion on the Gold Coast we are working towards making “The Mummy Tree Markets” a known name on the GC and this is only possible with the on-going support from our talented small businesses that trade with us in 2012!

Interest is growing daily for our June 9 market with applications opening online on April 30.

We are happy to announce an exciting competition coming up which will give 7 lucky stallholders the chance of great promotion and exposure for their business to the general GC public! Stay tuned to our facebook page for details.

Until next time Mandy & Jenna

11th February Market Day

What a fabulous start to 2012!

Amazing boutique stalls & a beautiful hot Queensland afternoon set the mood at our first Sanctuary Cove Twilight Market for 2012…

We were both excited and nervous about our first Mummy Tree Markets as Market Partners.  It was a huge job organizing a market like this but we were up for the challenge.

The market applications starting rolling in early and we had no problems filling the market but more than anything we were both really pleased at the quality and diversity of the boutique stalls on offer, showcasing such wonderful Best & Beautiful buys which made for a shopper’s delight!

(image from our Dec Market)

After an early morning marking out stall locations and doing all the last minuter preparations we were amazed at how quickly the market took shape once the stallholders arrived and the market proved to be a great place to spend a Saturday afternoon and evening. Belly laugh clowns, arts & crafts, interactive music for the little ones, gourmet food & the “must have” sno-cones  made an enjoyable day for all.

Big thanks to all our wonderful entertainers and also Jade from Forever After Photography (our market photographer) for all their hard work and thank-you to all our great stallholders and customers.

We are also very excited to announce “Curves” gym is now on board as a market sponsor too for 2012!  Spanning the coast from north to south targeting thousands of mums and spreading the word about our amazing chic, inspired, unique markets!

(image from our Dec Market)

We will both be working super hard on this market to make it the best ‘Family Friendly Boutique’ market experience on the Gold Coast and look forward to supporting and growing all the businesses who trade with us in 2012.

Don’t forget we will be back at Sanctuary Cove on the 14th April 2pm – 6pm – we look forward to seeing you all again.

With a relaxed, family friendly atmosphere, gourmet food, new & exciting  children’s entertainment, live music and of course, local businesses showcasing their amazing talents, products & services, it will be the place to be!

Applications open online 1st March 2012.

Spread the word and see you there!

Cheers

Mandy & Tracey
